American Orchid Society Monthly Judging
Atlanta Judging Center, on 3-14-2009 the 2nd Saturday of the month at 2 PM at the Botanical Gardens basement workshop area. Everyone is eligible to bring orchids for an official judging. If bringing orchids, please arrive 30 minutes early to register your plants. Observers of this type of judging quickly learn what judges look for in flowers and what makes some superior to others. Everyone is welcome to attend, whether or not you bring orchids.
Orchid Shows
Orchid shows give everyone a chance to see and purchase orchid plants and supplies, ask questions of the experts in orchid propagation and growing techniques and correct their problems. Among the largest annual shows in the USA are the ones held in New York City, Santa Barbara, Miami and the Redlands Orchid Festival (Homestead, FL) although many other large and small cities have their own annual shows.
The Atlanta show and sale will be held March 12-15
This year at the Atlanta Botanical Gardens, vendors from throughout the USA will attend this show to display and sell their plants.
